Celebrating Diwali with Masala Baby
Diwali is my favorite time of year. Diwali, popularly known as the “festival of lights,” is the start of a new year; a time to reset, reflect and let light conquer darkness. I thoroughly look forward to the celebrations, get togethers, dinner parties and prayers that make up this special time of year.
This Diwali season we are celebrating with Masala Baby and sharing how we prepare and celebrate. Masala Baby is a baby and kids lifestyle brand that combines rich cultural influences of India with a modern, contemporary aesthetic that crosses borders effortlessly.
The weeks leading up to Diwali we start preparing for the holiday by reading books, baking treats for friends and decorating the house. Essentially, I make the countdown to Diwali a part of our everyday, so our little one can feel the excitement build up.
This year we will be decorating diya’s as a classroom craft at Little Mirchi’s school. She wants to share the Diwali cheer and I’m excited for her to do so. She’ll be wearing her favorite Magical Garden dress from Masala Baby’s new holiday collection.
The evening before Diwali we light a diya, an oil candle to commence the start of Diwali.
The morning of is filled with excitement as we decorate our doorstep with rangoli designs. We have a prayer in the evening, which is followed by dinner and friends coming over to celebrate. Our finale at night is with sparklers and fireworks. Little Mirchi looks forward to this part the most!
Masala Baby’s latest collection is filled with approachable styles and fabrics that combine the rich cultural influences of India with a contemporary aesthetic. Their holiday dresses and prints are kid friendly with touches of sparkle and flair, perfect for my little girl.
To spread the Diwali cheer, Masala Baby will be offering 30% off from October 16-22nd using promo code DIWALI2017. They will also be offering the chance to win a holiday dress of winner’s choice, you can enter here.
