I’m Nisha, creator and editor of Love Laugh Mirch. I started this blog in February 2011 as a passion project, a way to document my cooking experiments and newlywed life.
For as long as I can remember, the kitchen has been a place of love, laughter, and childhood memories. Whether it was peeking over the counter to watch my grandmother lovingly stuff her aloo parathas (potato flatbreads), humoring my dad as he tweaked his kebab recipe for the hundredth time, learning how to make homemade dahi (yogurt) from my mom, or mastering family recipes over video chat as a newlywed, cooking has always been at the heart of my story.
After getting married, I found myself chasing that ghar ka khana (home-cooked food) flavor, recreating the comfort and warmth of the dishes I grew up with while sharing my challenges and discoveries along the way.
This love for cooking and preserving recipes passed down through generations inspired me to create Love Laugh Mirch: a space where food, family, and culture come together.
My list of favorites? A hot cup of chai, anything mango, and a comforting plate of ghar ka chana (home-cooked food).
As our family has grown, Love Laugh Mirch has evolved into a space that celebrates motherhood, Indian culture, and the everyday traditions that make life meaningful. I’m a believer in ghar ka khana, Nani ke nuskhe, and in infusing daily life with culture, connection, and family first.
Rooted in the flavors and values I grew up with, this blog reflects the love, laughter, and mirch masala that shape my world. My biggest influences remain the meals my parents lovingly prepared and the cultural richness they passed down, lessons that continue to guide both my cooking and my storytelling.
