These homemade wedges are spicy and crisp on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. They make the perfect snack or side!

This recipe is a favorite because it can be prepped and roasted while other things are going on in the kitchen. Simply set it and forget it. I’m sharing both an air fryer and oven method. Toss in a little oil with spices and enjoy your sweet potato wedges for a fresh, fun new alternative to regular fries!

  • Sweet potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Tandoori masala
  • Cumin + Coriander Powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • Scallions + Chilies

Ingredients
  • 1 lb sweet potatoes, about two medium size sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon tandoori masala
  • ½ teaspoon lal mirch / red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon jeera / cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon dhaniya / coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon haldi / turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped scallions and green chilies
Method
  1. Pre heat air fryer at 400F for 2 minutes.
  2. Cut the tops off the sweet potatoes, peel them and then cut them into 1 inch wedges.
  3. Add to a large bowl, coat with oil, add in the spices, salt, and mix well.
  4. Add the sweet potato wedges to the hot air fryer and cook for 11-12 minutes.
  5. Remover airfryer basket and shake the fries around, flipping them over, and cook for another 11-12 minutes.
  6. Remove tandoori sweet potato wedges from air fryer, garnish with scallions, green chilies and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
If cooking in oven, line a baking tray with parchment paper and roast tandoori sweet potato wedges in a preheated oven at 425°F for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
