Rose Milk, Sharbat is one summer drink that is not only beautiful but beneficial. Chia seeds and rose syrup help cool the body naturally. There is nothing like the sweet fragrant refresher on a hot sultry day. The truth is however, we love rooh afza so much that we have it with milk and water throughout the year.  Whether it’s sunny and bright outside or windy and cold, this drink brings upon a nostalgia that can’t be beat.

As a kid it was easy enough to serve this drink to me without me caring what was inside purely because of its gorgeous color. Now all of these ingredients stay stocked in my home, ready for the moment I crave this drink.

I use beautiful, fragrant rose petals from Rose Dose.

At little story about this Raspberry Rose Custard:

I make a version of this drink for one of my good friends who has now become like a sister to me. Quite often on Friday nights she will call me up saying she’s coming over for a movie night. It’s almost as if it’s instinct now that I’ll put down the phone, take out the chia seeds and soak them until her arrival. A few minutes after her walking through the door and my daughter attacking her with hugs she will slip into my kitchen and under her breath ask “Acha Nish, woh rooh afza wala dhoodh bana na” / “Ok Nisha, make that rooh afza milk will you?”. We both laugh because she knows me all too well and knows that I have her favorite drink waiting for her.

Raspberry Rose Chia Milk

Traditional rose milk is simply cold milk sweetened with rose syrup or rooh afza. I love the addition of a fresh fruit in this Raspberry Rose Chia Milk as it gives it a perfect summer vibe. If you don’t have raspberries you could alternatively use strawberries.
