A few weeks ago I shared that I was roasting garlic and got asked why and how to use it. So today I’m sharing how to roast garlic and 20 ways to use it!

For some, raw garlic can be too strong which in that case, this roasted garlic would be perfect! Roasted garlic has a sweet nutty flavor that melts in your mouth when you eat it. It is so simple to make and it’s seriously one of the most delicious things you will ever eat. You can add it to so many dishes to enhance flavors.

Roasted garlic cloves can be used in so many amazing ways! Roasting garlic makes the cloves soft and the flavor mild and sweet, it’s a great swap in recipes that call for raw garlic.

20 WAYS TO USE ROASTED GARLIC

  1. As a spread: mix it with your favorites mayonnaise and spread it on sandwiches, wraps, burgers, etc.
  2. As a pizza topping
  3. Make garlic butter: whip with butter
  4. Use it in bruschetta 
  5. Add it to pasta sauces
  6. Flavor your pesto
  7. Add it to guacamole 
  8. Flavor your hummus
  9. As a baked potato topping
  10. Mix it mashed potatoes
  11. Toss it with grilled vegetables
  12. Add it to Indian dals and sabzis
  13. In salad dressing: blend with your favorite ingredients

HOW TO STORE ROASTED GARLIC

If you don’t plan on using your roasted garlic right away here are some simple ways to store it:

  • Keep them in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the fridge.
  • Store them in a freezer safe, airtight container for for up to several months in the freezer.
  • Add them to an ice cube tray along with butter or olive oil and freeze. Remove the cubes, store them in a freezer safe, airtight container up to 2-3 months.

Roasted garlic adds incredible flavor and depth to any dish. Here's how to make it and 20 uses for it.

Ingredients
  • 4 bulbs garlic
  • 3-4 tablespoons olive oil
Method
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Rub the bulb of garlic to remove as much of the loose papery skin as possible.
  3. Cut off the top of the garlic so you can see the insides of each clove.
  4. On a sheet pan or cupcake tin place down square of foil and garlic in the middle, generously drizzle with olive oil. Seal the foil well, enclosing the garlic.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until cloves are soft and golden brown.
  6. Cool and squeeze the cloves out.
  7. Use in recipes or store as directed.
Notes
If you don’t plan on using your roasted garlic right away here are some simple ways to store it:
