If you grew up loving Indian bakery-style chili cheese toast, these Chili Cheese Paneer Pinwheels are going to feel like a warm hug from your childhood, but with a fun, modern twist.

Chili Cheese Paneer Pinwheels are a nostalgic mix of melty cheese, spicy chilis, and sweet corn wrapped up in flaky layers of golden puff pastry. The result? A bite-sized appetizer that tastes indulgent, looks impressive, and disappears faster than you can place the tray down.
The heart of this recipe lies in its blend of creamy cottage cheese, soft paneer, and stretchy mozzarella. Paired with crunchy bell peppers, sweet corn, onions, cilantro, and plenty of fresh green chilies, every swirl of the pinwheel is packed with texture and flavor. It’s the kind of filling that hits all the notes: creamy, spicy, savory, and just a little sweet from the veggies. If you’ve ever found yourself craving something comforting but still bright and vibrant, this combination delivers exactly that.
What makes these pinwheels especially party-friendly is their versatility. They taste amazing fresh out of the oven when the cheese is gooey and the pastry is at peak flakiness, but they’re equally delicious at room temperature. That means you can serve them as part of a festive spread, pack them for a potluck, or prep them ahead for game day snacking. And because they’re rolled and sliced into neat spirals, they’re easy for guests to grab, no forks, no fuss.
I also love how customizable they are. Want them spicier? Add extra green chilies or jalapeños on top. Prefer a milder version for kids? Cut back the heat and let the chaat masala shine. You can even switch up the vegetables based on whatever you have on hand.
Whether you’re hosting, attending, or just treating yourself to something fun and flavorful, these Chili Cheese Paneer Pinwheels are the kind of recipe that brings people to the table with curiosity and leaves them asking for seconds. Serve them with your favorite chutneys and enjoy a little taste of childhood, in flaky, cheesy, appetizer form.
