Cheesy Garlic Bread

I have a weakness for a good piece of garlic bread and this Cheesy Garlic Bread delivers. Soft and chewy on the inside, crispy edges, with the perfect buttery, cheesy, garlic flavor.

What I love about Cheesy Garlic Bread

The perfect amount of garlic and herbs gets mixed together and smeared all over your bread. A generous amount of mozzarella and parmesan is sprinkled all over the top and it’s baked until bubbly and golden. So simple and super quick to put together!

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Butter: Salted or unsalted butter will work. If you use salted, keep in mind that Parmesan is salty too. Make sure the butter is softened at room temperature.
  • Garlic: Fresh, finely minced garlic works best
  • Cheese: Shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Don’t skip on the parmesan, it adds a perfect umami of nutty and salty flavor to this bread. I like to use vegetarian parmesan.
  • Bread: Italian loaf, French baguette or ciabatta, are the best for this recipe.
  • Fresh Herbs: My favorite herbs to add as basil and fresh oregano.
  • Dried herbs: I add an Italian seasoning mix of dried parsley and oregano.
  • Red Chili flakes: To add a bit of spice and flavor, add as much or little as you like!

The great thing is that you can really serve this with anything. Feel free to serve your garlic bread on its own as an appetizer with some warmed marinara or as a vessel to scoop up some of your favorite saucy pastas.
