Toka Box | September Navratri Box
This months Toka Box could not be any more perfect for the upcoming festivities. Navratri, the nine day festival with celebrates the different forms of Mother Goddesses is right around the corner and the September Toka Box is helping children get ready!
Everything for the activity is included: Bells and whistles for the Dandiya + more
This month’s book touched me dearly as it was a wonderful way to show children what all mothers do for children and goddesses do for us. Mata, Mama & Me is a Chinmaya Bala Katha, double win for me as I am a Chinmaya Balvihar Alumni and find their children’s books to be utterly sweet, simple and relatable. As for the Dandiya, because we have gone to Garba together, Little Mirchi was familiar with what they were and the activity was simple and exciting for her. She glued and stuck everything on by herself with minimal help from me. She then had me play music so she could dance around like a Gopi.
Toka Box, is a wonderful a monthly treat that’s filled with hand picked children’s books, arts or crafts and a kid friendly recipe that makes learning fun. Each Toka Box subtly builds life skills from patience to problem-solving and incorporates academic themes such as reading, math, history, science and the arts. The boxes come tailored for two different age groups. The “Toka Junior” is for ages 3-5 and “Toka Explorer” for ages 5-8. We’re ambassadors for the Junior box as it’s age appropriate for Little Mirchi. You can see past reviews here, here and here.
