A white and gold thread work kurti paired with red accents by both mother and daughter. See how my mom and I styled our matching kurtis.
“No daughter and mother ever live apart, no matter what the distance between them.” – C. Watson
As we walked out of our respective hotel rooms and caught a look of one another, we both started laughing. We had both ended up packing our kurtis with a red churridar and dupatta! We also lucked out that day as the weather ended up being much warmer than expected. Throughout the day my husband kept saying how we looked like twins and matching school girls. I guess you’re never too old to match your mom!
The visit to the mandir was beautiful and peaceful. Located between the Appalachian Mountains in the rural West Virginia Panhandle, it’s easy to forget you’re in America and not the hill stations of India. Little Mirchi was in awe at the peacocks roaming freely and the elegant swans swimming around. New Vrindaban also has North America’s first and largest cow protection program. Currently there are over 50 cows that will be cared for throughout their entire natural life. In the warmer months, guests are invited to milk and engage with the cows.
After our darshan and lunch we roamed the property and visited The Palace of Gold. Before leaving, one of the Pandit Ji’s (priests) asked if Little Mirchi would like to feed the ducks and swans, she delightfully agreed. If you’re ever in the area, I highly suggest a visit!
