Sharing scenes from Little Mirchi’s Cupcake Decorating Birthday Party
Little Mirchi recently turned 4 and to celebrate we had a small cupcake decorating party. Her favorites lately have varied from dinosaurs to fairies but two constant favorites have remained, playing in her mini kitchen and her love of sprinkles. So when the time came to plan her party, we decided on a cupcake decorating party almost instantly.
To contain the sprinkle mess we made individual pallets filled with a variety of sprinkles and mini chocolate chips. We set up a toddler size table and chairs in Little Mirchi’s playroom with mini aprons for the kids. For the table decor I went with a colorful polka dot tablecloth and arranged disposable piping bags filled with chocolate, cream cheese and vanilla frosting in the center.
The night before I baked a variety of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and stored them in ziplock bags. I also had the sprinkle pallets arranged and ready to go for the next day. We made a few extra for our friends and parents who wanted to get in on the fun of being cake creative!
Since the party was going to be an instant sugar high, we planned lunch first followed by cupcake decorating. The kids had a blast and I loved the ease of it all. I had bakery boxes ready so those who wanted to could pack up their cupcakes and take them home.
It was such a sweet afternoon celebrating our Little Mirchi.
