Having cake and eating it too.
I have always loved the idea of first birthday cake smashes and wanted Little Mirchi to have one too. We knew her actual birthday weekend would be too busy, so the weekend before worked perfectly. A day before the smash session I ordered a small fresh cream cake and set up some disposable table cloths in our living room the night before. I didn’t want to worry about any small details the day of and just wanted to focus on her & taking pictures. To our delight when we awoke the next morning it was a beautiful warm spring day. We ditched the indoor idea and headed straight for the park. It worked out perfectly since she absolutely loves being outdoors. It was her first time trying any type of frosting on cake so I was a bit hesitant, but she dove right in like a champ.
